Match report A cracking game of cricket with the 'pendulum of cricketing fate' swinging one way and then the other...

Asked to bat first and having cruised to 99-1, a mini collapse saw us wobbling at 100-4. Chuckle (39*) and Chappy (37) patiently and sensibly rebuilt the innings with a final late flurry taking us to a competitive 210-5.

In reply Rayleigh were well poised at both 71-1 and again at 134-3 but the dismissal of Jones (31) triggered a collapse as Rayleigh crumbled in their valiant efforts to keep up with the required run rate.

Sam Harman proved to be the match-winner with an incredible 4 over spell of bowling taking 5 wickets for just 18 runs (5-38 in all) to turn the game on its head and back up the great work of JT in the first part of the innings.

A fantastic team performance to savour as we reach the halfway mark in the season...
