Match report This was quite a remarkable match in what was a potential promotion match with Havering one place below us in third and a victory for them would of put them above us.
Havering batted first and were soon in the ascendesy with keylock and wallace playing some very aggresive shots and although we couldnt take wickets it took 23 overs for them to reach the hundred but with many bowlers not available the inexperence was starting to show and both players were taking runs for fun and it wasnt until the 37th over we managed a breakthrough but the score had reached 216 Keylock the man to deart for 68. Walalce continued in his positive manner and reached his three figures but when the innings finishe dhe had made 126 and Havering 260 for 3.
So a big task in front of our batsmen but Buck and Dumpy set the pace with 91 from the first 20 overs but with still 7 an over required we needed to go a bit quicker, Kempy came in up the order after Dumpy departed for 37 looking to hit the ball to all parts but he went cheaply and really were under the cosh.Phil joined Buck who was going along very nicely and the rate increased but when Buck fell for a splendid 68 it was looking ominous.Hudders came in and played his normal self thinking 8 an over now was no problem and with a quickfire 45 from him and Phil scoring a quick 56 the game was now there for the taking ,both players soon went to leave 10 needed from the last over and with Cookie and mark elgar at the crease it was a difficult task but young Mark showed no fear or nerves and despatched the first ball for 4 the second went for a single and Cookie joined in with a couple and a single but it was left for mark to hit a 4 from the penultimate ball to secure a remarkable victory by 3 wickets and keep our push for promotion going.
