Fellow Members

Firstly, I'd like to remind you all we have a Special General Meeting to update, discuss and decide how you would like us to proceed our 'Nets' project. The meeting will be held at club tomorrow, 21st June, starting at 8pm. Please let me know if you are able to attend.

With England creating a world record yesterday, Natwest/New Balance were delighted at the number of coloured shirts that were flying off the shelves. We to now have a coloured kit option too. This is going to be worn by our Sunday team, however if like me playing Sunday cricket is a distant memory, why not purchase one to wear as supporters or at training. I have attached a flier with details.

Cricket this week:

This Friday, the form side of the club, our Ladies will be traveling a short distance to take on OCs - they have a strong squad, however we have a three game winning streak and have become alien to defeats. Alternatively, why not go to Hatfield Peverel where our U15s who were very impressive and clinical against Broomfield in the last game.

The 1st Team will travel to Stock (currently sitting 2nd) determined to expel the shock defeat at Writtle last weekend, with Sam back in the runs and a strong eleven taking the field, I predict a close game with our boys back to winning ways.

The 2nd Team host Rettendon (yet to win a game) will be confident in taking maximum points and cushion us from the relegation zone. Come along and watch 'The King of Essex' (Phil Whettell) who has only been dismissed once this season!

The 3rd Team have an outing to the London smog - Hornchurch Athletic for a mid-table clash. On the back of two defeats, Deano's men will be keen to reverse fortunes.

Finally, the perfect way to cap off the weekend, watch our Sunday team host Old Southendians in their 2nd league fixture, with a perfectly cooked burger off the BBQ in one hand, while simultaneously watching England qualify for the next round of the world cup.

Sadly, I will away this weekend in Hamburg (World's largest model railway exhibition), I know you're jealous.

Best of luck to all the teams, I'll be following all teams on WhatsApp.
