Match report After losing the toss Great Waltham were asked to bat on what was still a damp wicket. A score of 180 would of been a competative total but when we lost Mick early on it looked an envious task.A steady partnership between Buck and Andy saw us progress to 40 after 10 overs with no further loss.Buck was out shortly after with the score on 43 which bought Ollie Devenish to the crease who from the off looked to play aggresive shots he partnered Andy for 35 runs before the latter was out for 15.Hudders came to the crease looking to play his shots and scored a steady 28 before he was also in the hutch with Ollie still there the total we set looked realistic but he was gone soon after for a splendid 44 so it was left to the tail to push the score up and thanks to 22 of the last over from Barry we had exceeded our target to finish on 195-7 ,Moffit, Sommerville and Keylock all getting 2 wickets apeice for Havering.
The reply got off to a quick start with Cookie struggling to find his form from last season and they were matching our scoring identically but we managed to strike in the 8th over when Barry had Keylock undone by a slower ball for LBW , Butler continued to play his shots but he was again done by the same ball with the same response 2 down and the third soon followed when Barry bowled his next victim.A partnership of nearly 50 saw Havering back in the game with some positive shots and were looking well set on 98-3 from 28 overs but when Brownie introduced himself and Sam Harris the opposition were suddenly finding runs hard to come by and with pressure being created both ends wickets started to fall and the target was looking impossible for Havering to reach and this was the case with Sam finishing with 2 wickets and Brownie 3 the innings fell short by 38 runs but we couldnt get the elusive last wicket with Skipper Richardson holding out for 23.
