Match report
The final league game of the season ended prematurely due to the weather but not before a major personal milestone was achieved.
Following the early dismissal of Josh De'ath it was Matty Reed and Phil Whettell who overcame a circumspect start to build a substantial partnership. With Phil's dismissal it was left to cameos from Jake De'ath and debutant Ollie Brittain to help push the scoring along. However, it was the arrival of Ross Toomey who started to push the scoring rate with some powerful hitting and aggressive running to assist Matty reaching his century off the penultimate delivery of the innings.
A score of 231 was likely to be a tough ask with the wicket of their opener, Austin, caught Ollie at cover bowled Joe. It was building to be a competitive game as their #3 Robinson looked to accelerate the scoring but unfortunately, with the intervention of rain, the result was lost to the weather.
Congratulations to Matty on his maiden century and hopefully this will be the first of many.
